Binge Watch Unapologetically! Love, Lust & Confusion Will Keep You Hooked

The number of content pieces viewed online has grown from 64.2 million in 2018 to 64.8 million in 2019, and is further predicted to rise to 65.1 million by the end of 2020, says an article on Forbes. Over these three years, 89% millennials are expected to watch online videos, which will result in a major drop in TV viewing.

There is no denying the love that millennials have for digital content, like web series. In fact, this population is expected to soon outnumber all those who are into traditional television watching.

Online video streaming platform, Viu, has been creating a lot of original content, particularly for the millennials. One such series is Love, Lust & Confusion, which aired for the first on March 17, 2019. Produced by Mango People Media, this is a lighthearted drama and comedy series, with 13 episodes in each season of its two seasons.

Love Lust & Confusion Season 1
Love Lust & Confusion is a perfect mix of love, desire, life choices, dilemmas and confusion – which are a few typical challenges faced by every millennial. This gripping web series is about a young journalist, Poroma, who comes to Mumbai from Kolkata. She craves new experiences in her life and wants to record them all in a journal. Through her, the show depicts the concept of polyamory – the practice of engaging in sexual relationship with multiple partners, with their consent.

Love Lust & Confusion Season 1 perfectly portrays the age that is defined by indecisiveness, physical exploration and confusion. Poroma interacts with many unique characters through her journey and enjoys all the experiences she missed out in her hometown. The best part of this Hindi romantic web series is that almost all youngsters are able to relate to the plot and the characters.

Speaking from a millennial’s point of view, we tend to fall in love for a few months and then fall out of love and for us, that is fine. We all go through love affairs, sexual relations and are constantly confused between right and wrong. Poroma is engaged to her childhood love, Rohan, yet this does not stop her from exploring other men. Apart from her best friend Momo, nobody knows about her relationship status.

Momo encourages her to go out with other men and tells her that if she likes someone, she shouldn’t stop herself from courting them. This almost becomes the life mantra for Poroma. She keeps trying out new things and notes them down in her journal. She gets involved with lesbians and even does a threesome along with Nikita, a singer in a band. Later, she sleeps with a drummer called Johnny.

Suddenly, there is a lot of sex and love making in Poroma’s life and in between all This excitement and drama, she forgets to give enough time to her fiancé, Rohan. Love Lust & Confusion is a series of misadventures that mark Poroma’s lives and a story of how all the people around her are affected by her reckless actions.

Love Lust & Confusion Season 2
Love Lust & Confusion Season 2 begins with Poroma moving ahead with her life and continuing to meet different men. Seems like she still has a long way to go before she finally settles down with someone. This season doubles the drama and confusion, making it even more interesting than the previous season. All episodes of Love Lust & Confusion Season 2 are a stark contrast to the last season because she starts taking the “do not do” list seriously.

Poroma stops bed hopping and begins a lovely live-in relationship with Rahil, a poet. Although she is more mature than she was in the last season, her mind is still full of lust and excitement. She dreams of kissing other men and also gets in touch with all her exes to get reviews of her upcoming book.

On the one hand, there are multiple men who want to woo her and she is confused about how to control her desires. On the other hand, she is guilt-ridden due to her decision to dump her fiancé and thereby letting down her parents.

The series contains nudity, bold love making scenes and adult dialogues, so watching discretion is advisable. At the same time, it is a perfect representation of how today’s woman does not shy away from expressing her desires. With the addition of a few songs, the quirky, feel good factor of the series remains intact. This is one of the most refreshing Indian web series to binge on because it allows a woman to make mistakes, fall down and get back to being normal once again.

Love Lust & Confusion Cast: Tara Alisha Berry, Rajat Barmecha, Piyush Ghadse, Ankit Bathla, Meghana Kaushik, Mohini Shimpi

Premiere: Sang Min Lim’s ‘Levitate’ Music video

If you’re a fan of K-pop who hasn’t heard of Sang Min Lim, now’s definitely the time to take an interest.

Sang Min Lim, often performing under the stage name SANG, has just released his fourth single with an accompanying music video – and it’s truly something to behold.

The combination of futuristic neon animation with the modern-yet-mellow sound of the song is an unconventional idea – but it really, really works.

Sang Min Lim – Levitate

Sang entered the music scene last year, with his debut song Fantasy. The success of the single and music video spurred him on to produce two further songs, Remember and Follow – all available to listen to on his YouTube channel

The choice to go with animation for the latest music video is certainly and interesting one, and a bit of a departure from Sang’s previous videos – proving that while he’s consistent in the quality and style of his music, he’s not afraid to experiment, evolve as an artist, and make bold decisions.

Sang Min Lim’s debut music video to his first single Fantasy was focused more on creating a narrative through live action – involving the dancer, performer, and internet sensation Dytto. In Sang’s own words, ‘Dytto was a huge inspiration when my directors, CeCe Frey and Chase Stockman, came to me with the idea to make her and I into robots for the video. We also shot it on the same robotic camera arm that Kendrick Lamar used in the Humble music video, which I think totally captures the futuristic vibe we were going for.’

His next two videos directed by Chris Wood followed much the same format, with a focus on creating a dark, ultramodern atmosphere and starring Sang in leading roles. The production value of his music videos is truly striking – for someone who’s only been active in the music industry for about a year, he’s doing incredibly well.

The brand new Levitate still involves something of a narrative and has a thoroughly professional look, though it appears more focused on the visual aspects rather than the story. The masterfully mesmerising animation retains the same modern vibe, albeit with a different take. The story involved in the video is more fragmented than in the previous clips, enabling the audience to focus more on the experience of watching the neon outlines shift, twist, and spiral. This departure from the techniques usually appearing in his videos has got us all wondering what he’ll do next.

Sang has a lot on his plate – while making his music, he’s also studying law at the University of Southern California. Luckily, he has revealed that he’s confident he can take on both challenges simultaneously and has no plans of giving up either his studies or his music career. So far, there haven’t been any news regarding his next single or upcoming album, but given that his released singles have been so successful, it’s pretty much guaranteed he won’t stop here!

An Exclusive Interview With Music Photographer Sam Verbisky

Music and tour photographer, Sam Verbisky is a 22-year-old Canadian who’s worked with some of the most notable names in the music industry.

Sam has teamed up with the likes of Spinnin’ Records, Throttle, Monstercat, Mesto, and CID to create memories via the use of expertly curated photography and video content.

Recently, I had the chance to meet up and speak with Sam concerning his journey in the music industry and how he was able to become the man he is today.

How Did You Get Started As A Photographer?

Growing up, I always had a creative interest. I bought my first camera, a Flip Mino HD when I was twelve-years-old. It didn’t come as a surprise when my friends Omar, Justin, Vincent and I found ourselves trying to film trick shots on the basketball court with my new camera.

Back then we gained a lot of our inspiration from Youtube sensations Dude Perfect. This was the beginning of my photography career.

And early on, photographers Chris Yoder and Charles-Edouard Dangelser were big inspirations of mine.

Can You Please Tell Us About Your First Music Photography Experience?

Each year, my hometown, Ottawa, hosts a large music festival called Bluesfest. And the headliners for this festival range from A-list artists such as Kanye West, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, 50 Cent and Pink.

In May 2017, I sent a direct message to the official Instagram of Ottawa Bluesfest about potentially creating video content for the festival’s 2017 event. Bear in mind, I had never filmed a concert and had limited experience in filming. To my surprise, the Bluesfest team gave me a chance and provided me with a media pass for the event. A few days into the event, I was given the opportunity to film one of my biggest inspirations, musician Harley Streten, Otherwise known as Flume.

How Did You Grow Your Network After The Bluesfest Festival?

Now that I had caught the attention of some respected names in the music industry, I thought of ways by which I could make a career out of my photography skills.

So I reached out to various artists and asked if I could film their shows and eventually I landed gigs with French producer and artist Petit Biscuit, Hawaiian producer GRAVES and several other artists. Then I sent an Instagram direct message to Australian DJ and Producer Throttle, asking him if I could provide value to his brand through videos.

Throttle liked the idea and let me film his show in Ottawa. Then he invited me to film in Montreal a few days later. After that, he asked me to be his videographer for his North American Tour. Soon after that, I became his photographer for all his shows worldwide.

All of this wouldn’t have been possible without the values which I hold dearly; Make valuable content, Give without expectation of return and never forget where you come from.

How Long Did It Take For You To Create Chaos Theory?

The production was filmed all throughout 2019. From the first month, January to the last, December. Chaos Theory is a film that captures the awesome moments that I caught on my camera from around the world. Post-production for Chaos Theory took over 150 hours.

Ibru Will Be A Surefire Success Story In The Music Industry Thanks To His Unwavering Confidence

The draw of being a successful musician is obvious. The fame, wealth, and lavish lifestyle associated with being a hot artist is something anyone would dream of achieving. For Ibru, he is more in the business of inspiring the next generation of kids just as artists before him did in his childhood. His passion for music has been clear since he was only a boy, and his mission to influence the next generation of youth is what keeps him grounded and hungry for more even if widespread success seems far down the line.

Speaking of success, his work ethic and unwavering faith has led him to gaining notoriety in the reggae genre. His hit single “Pinnacle” was featured on the “Tropical House Cruises to Jamaica Deluxe Edition Album”, which reached the top ten on the reggae billboard charts. Not only was he able to gain exposure through this album, but he was featured alongside other prominent artists Capleton and Mykal Rose.

His latest EP “I’m So Focused” and his interview with Jamaica’s number one entertainment source The Star have also done a lot for his personal brand and helping expose his music. Shereita Grizzle of The Star was impressed by Ibru’s poise and confidence on the interview, which Ibru accredits to his dedication to his craft and steadying his focus. While it is hard to break onto the scene in Jamaica with its tough reggae audience, Ibru’s preparation and passion for music helped him get over the fear of taking them on. As his music bursts onto the scene in Jamaica, this interview will also win people over by the masses as his story continues to grow on an international level.

With all of the recent storylines and accolades surrounding Ibru, he wants to be completely clear  that success is not just a walk in the park. He understands that people are looking up to him for inspiration, and wants to be clear that there are times where the light at the end of the tunnel may be completely out of sight. Rather than giving in, resort back to why you started in the first place and realize that setbacks are all a part of the journey. Just as he never gave up, he hopes to influence his fans and people looking up to him to do the same and keep persevering.

With the right team around him and the right mindset to succeed, Ibru has been ready to handle all of the ups and downs that come with finding success in the music industry. He has already seen some success in his young career, but this is truly only the beginning. Regardless of the fame he accumulates through his work, the mission will always stay the same: spread a message and inspire those who will come after him.
